McDonald’s is introducing a beloved international McFlurry to the US.

The wait has ended, America! McDonald’s beloved international delight, the Kit Kat McFlurry, is coming to stores nationwide starting July 10. The U.S. variant takes the dessert up a notch by incorporating flavors reminiscent of a classic ice cream parlor favorite. Dubbed the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, this new offering features the iconic soft serve blended with real banana, crunchy strawberry-flavored clusters, and Kit Kat pieces. Naturally, it’s thick enough to enjoy by the spoonful.

Australian McDonald’s fans may find familiarity in these flavors, as both the Kit Kat McFlurry and a Banana Caramel Pie McFlurry have been available multiple times in “Maccas” over the past four years. Locations in Japan and Germany have also introduced Kit Kat-themed McFlurries. Moreover, the UK has not only a regular Kit Kat McFlurry but also a Ruby Chocolate Kit Kat McFlurry, which features pink ruby chocolate. These creations have sparked envy and frustration among U.S. fans eager to sample these delights.

While social media users are humorously commenting on the notorious “broken” soft serve machines, many are expressing their excitement to try the new McFlurry. One enthusiastic fan on Instagram remarked, “Take all my money,” while another expressed joyful surprise, stating, “WHAT?! US?? It’s a miracle.”

What does the new McFlurry taste like?

While McDonald’s new treat combines two iconic ice cream favorites — a crunchy McFlurry with candy bits and a banana split — some on social media expressed concerns about the banana flavor. However, early testers report that it is quite mild. In Australia, fans enjoyed the banana flavor of that McFlurry. The treat also includes Kit Kat’s classic chocolate-covered wafers, resulting in cocoa notes and the candy bar’s flaky texture.

The Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry does not include a syrup mix-in, disappointing some testers who wished for a strawberry syrup or hot fudge mix-in, similar to Japan’s strawberry Kit Kat McFlurry released in 2022. Nonetheless, a generous amount of fruit crumble guarantees that each bite is crispy and sweet. Customers who savored last year’s Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry may notice some similarities, as both feature fragrant strawberry clusters.

Some U.S. fans are drawing nostalgic parallels between this dessert and McDonald’s banana milkshake, which has been absent from menus for years. The new launch follows the Grandma McFlurry that debuted in May 2024, highlighting the company’s focus on nostalgic foods poised for a comeback. The Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry will only be available while supplies last, so be sure to grab one soon.
